The age of discontinuity - 1969 (re-issued 1992)
This book does not project trends; it examines discontinuities. It does not forecast tomorrow; it looks at today. It does not ask: 'What will tomorrow look like?'
It asks instead: 'What do we have to tackle today to make tomorrow?'

Managing in turbulent times - 1980
The issues raised in The age of discontinuity were re-visited a decade later in Managing in turbulent times. Change, uncertainty and turbulence were the underpinning themes as Drucker highlighted the new realities of changing population demographics, global markets and a 'bisexual' workforce.

Peter Drucker, 1909-2005
Among Drucker's influences was Joseph Schumpeter.
Drucker's career as a business thinker took off in 1942, when his initial writings won him access to General Motors (GM). The resulting book: Concept of the Corporation, popularized GM's multidivisional structure. GM's chairman, Alfred Sloan, was so upset about the book that he "simply treated it as if it did not exist".

Målstyring er en betegnelse for en ledelsesdisciplin, der beskæftiger sig med styring af organisationer efter mål.
Betydning af målfastsættelse blev første gang formuleret af Peter Drucker i bogen "The Practice of Management" (1954) i temaet "Management by objectives".
